The educational services developed a series of activities and the result is a set of didactic materials available for the educational community.
It’s a children's book that depicts the adventures of restless Pintarolas (the museum’s mascot) at sea. Pintarolas endangers herself due to the mistakes of some men who insist in polluting the sea.
The children's book was the result of a project developed in partnership with the University of Madeira - Competence Centre of Exact Sciences and Engineering, and the result was a 3D video featuring the children's story, which you can see in the museum's educational services. The 3D film was later adapted for the deaf people, through the inclusion of sign language, and the children's book was also adapted for the visually impaired. Adaptation to people with special needs was made possible through the support provided by the Regional Director of Special Education and Rehabilitation.
The project was presented at the Regional Week of People with Special Educational Needs (2010); you can take a look at the pictures here.
